Abstract This paper reports the development of a numerical solver aimed to simulate interaction between space charge (i.e. ions) distribution and electric field in liquid argon time projection chamber (LArTPC) detectors. The ion transport equation is solved by time-accurate, cell-centered finite volume method potential continuous element method. updates which provides drift velocity equation. density appears as source term numerically simulated within each physical step. convective can include background flow addition velocity. has been parallelized using Message Passing Interface (MPI) library.
